• Ogawa Yasu (Anglicized: Yasu Ogawa), aka The Mayor, Mayor-San, and Ogawa-San.


• Late 50s. Born in Osaka, currently living in New York.


• Brief run-ins with gangs and the local Yakuza when he was a teen and young man. After he was nearly arrested, he cleaned up his act and got out.


• Moved to New York, became a high school guidance counselor. Long and respected (though uneventful) career, became a bit of an institution at his school. Students adore him.


• Especially the residents of the Undercity, the hidden, secret fantastical side of New York. Vampires, werewolves, witches, goblins, ghosts, etc.


• His Undercity students, annoyed with the corruption of their leaders, organized a write-in campaign of Ogawa for Mayor of the Undercity. He was a dark horse candidate, but in a crowded and chaotic field, he pulled ahead and was elected Mayor.


• He did Not know about this ahead of time. He also didn’t know that fantastical creatures and magic even existed.


• But y’know, things happen. Sure.


• Quiet, thoughtful, empathetic, and dignified.


• Hobbies include cooking, model railways, and lengthy JRPGs (oldschool Dragon Quest fan).


• Lifelong practitioner of Shinto, makes dealing with the undead a little tense.


• Just trying to do his best to help who he can in his new city.
